UPDATE: Temple Airport Cleared After Evacuation Because of SItem - kcentv.com - KCEN HD - Waco, Temple, and Killeen

UPDATE: 9:30 P.M.

The Temple Airport has been cleared after an evacuation because of a suspicious item that was found Tuesday afternoon.

An Explosive Ordinance Disposal team from Ft. Hood examined the item and determined it was non-hazardous. The item is believed to be equipment left behind by a sub-contractor.  The explosives team was called in since employees did not recognize the item as part of their normal operations.

(KCEN) -- The Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport in Temple has been evacuated after a suspicious item was found.

The Temple Police Department is waiting for a bomb squad to arrive at the scene.
