(KCEN) -- Gov. Rick Perry has called for a moment of silence tomorrow to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
He issued a proclamation for a moment of silence to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 21, which coincides with the Day of Mourning called for by Conn. Gov. Dannel Malloy.
Perry said, "Though
our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find hope in the stories of courage and
bravery that have emerged in the aftermath. This is an
opportunity to join together in the spirit of healing, and in honor of those
who were lost."
He also asked buildings that have bells to ring them 26 times to honor the 26 victims who were killed in the tragedy.
