(KCEN) -- Many people collect Christmas villages and towns during the holidays, but one Texas doctor has his hands full.
The Firsenberg's living room is now an attraction to their neighbors.
It started 18 years ago when a cancer patient gave Dr. Barry Firsenberg a handmade ceramic house.
And the rest was history.
Since then his collection has grown to more than a thousand pieces.
It takes an entire month to put together the whole Christmas village.
Firsenberg's wife, Elva, said, "He'll bring me in here and he'll say, 'Can you tell where my new one is?' and I'm like, 'You've got to be kidding me. No!'"
Firsenberg says she's thankful that her husband loves Christmas as much as she does and hopes the tradition will continue for many more years.
