(KCEN) -- A cruise ship is being sanitized in Galveston after more than 100 people mostly passengers became sickened by norovirus.

Princess Cruises says the virus was likely carried onto the ship by boarding passengers.

Norovirus is easily transmitted.

The ship left Venice, Italy earlier this month for a 20 day cruise.
