(KCEN) -- Investigators shed some light into a deadly plane crash in Moscow today.
A crane was used to clear the wreckage of an airliner that veered off a runway and crashed onto a highway.
It then broke into pieces and caught on fire.
The dead included four of the 12 crew members.
Investigators say the plane was able to touch down but unable to stop within its landing strip.
A spokesperson for Russia's top investigative agency said initial indications pointed to pilot error.
No passengers were on board the plane.
