(KCEN) -- An Illinois State Trooper had to deliver a baby on the side of a highway.
If that wasn't enough the baby was his newest daughter!
Little Maci Carolyn Martinez weighs seven pounds, two ounces.
But her journey into this world started on Friday morning when her mother's water broke.
Soon, the contractions were a minute and a half apart as she and husband Chad, an Illinois State Trooper, hit the road for the 25 mile drive they knew the baby wasn't waiting.
The mother Megan Martinez said, "I told him that there's a foot hanging out, and he didn't believe me. And I reached, and there was toes. And I'm like Chad, there's toes."
The baby was born within minutes of pulling over.
But she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck.
So her father removed the mucous from her airway and then she started breathing.
