
The game was close throughout the first half. San Jacinto built a
seven-point lead with just over four minutes to go and led 32-26 at the
break.
The Gators extended the lead to 13 early in the second
half but the Highlassies weren't done. MCC fought back, tying the game
at 50 with 5:47 remaining in the game. The two teams traded baskets and
were tied at 54 with 4:28 on the clock. The Highlassies ended the game
on a 10-2 run to seal the win.
Quiana Tucker led the Highlassies
with 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Cha'Zaye Wright and Shanice
Davis scored 14 and 13 points, respectively.
MCC returns to action tomorrow, facing Trinity Valley at 6 p.m. in the final gam of the two-day shoot-out.
