(KCEN) -- Fort Hood has released the name of a soldier killed in an auto accident in New Mexico earlier this month.
SPC Marcus Orin Williams, 27, was killed from injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle crash around 2 a.m. on December 19 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Williams entered the service in 2006 as a motor transport operator.
He was assigned to the Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment at For Hood since June of 2012.
He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from November 2007 to January 2009 and from August 2010 to August 2011.
Williams received several awards and decorations, including two Army Commendation Medals, a National Defense Service Medal and a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
