Feds Call for Additional Inspections of Boeing 737 Jets

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- The federal government is ordering additional inspections of some Boeing 737 jets.

That's after a Southwest Airlines plane had to make an emergency landing in 2009 when a hole tore open in the cabin.

The government is seeking more detailed inspections for cracks along the tops of planes.

Additional inspections could cost about 5.2 million dollars to check out more than 100 planes.
