(KCEN) -- Every so often you may hear about someone stopping a robber or a thief in the act, but this story literally has a different perspective on things.
One Florida pilot caught a thief in the act from his plane.
David Zethner was on his way back from North Carolina when he did his routine check up on his house.
But someone else was already checking out Zethner's house from the ground.
Zethner saw a man looking through his home's windows and trying to open the doors.
He watched as the man hooked up his trailer to his truck and took off.
Zethner said, "Right in front of us with us making a tight circle around our property here watching him from the air and he was clearly looking at us several times, looked up."
He called 9-1-1 and luckily police were able to locate the suspect in 40 minutes.
Fifty-nine-year-old Gary Haines of Virginia is now charged with grand theft.
