(KCEN) -- A 24-year-old Dallas man shot himself early yesterday morning after a chase that ended near a Dart station.

It started just before 3 a.m. when a police pulled over a drunk driver on I-35.

The man stopped, but when an officer approached his vehicle he took off, hitting the officer.

After an hour-long pursuit, the suspect's tires were blown out.

The man got out of his vehicle with two guns, then shot himself in the head.

Meantime the officer who was hit by the car was treated and released from the hospital.
