(KCEN) -- Three people were killed and two others wounded overnight when a gunman opened fire in a small Swiss village.
Police shot and wounded the suspect after he threatened them when they tried to arrest him.
He is now in custody.
According to local reports, the gunman is a resident of the village and was armed with an assault fire and had been drinking heavily.
Mass shootings are rare in Switzerland, although gun possession is widespread.
According to estimates at least one for every three of Switzerland's eight million resident own a gun.
