Several Weapons Found in Foreclosed Home in Connecticut

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Bank representatives cleaning out a foreclosed home in Connecticut came across more than a hundred guns, along with a grenade and a mortar shell.

The police arrived and called the bomb squad to investigate.

Police say the weapons were collectibles from the Civil War era.

They said the guns and other items weren't in working condition...and the guns were legally registered to the homeowner.

Lt. Colin Ryan of the Farmington Police says, "The reason the bomb squad came out is because we found some stuff that, you know, if you don't have the training you have to have the experts look at it."

Police removed the weapons and said no charges will be filed against the owner.
