One of the men who were shot at 1704 Old FM 440 succumbed to his injuries. Austin James Sampson, 25 years old, was pronounced deceased by Scott & White Medical authorities.

Killeen Police are investigating a shooting that occurred this evening at the 1700 block of Old FM 440.
Officers received a 911 call in reference to shots fired today at 5:27pm, in the parking lot of the Star Mart Convenience Store located at 1704 Old FM 440. Upon the officer's arrival, they located three males with gunshot wounds. Two of the males were immediately transported by ambulance to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and the third male was airlifted to Scott and White Memorial Hospital; all in critical condition. Witnesses say that a black male with dreads got out of a white Lincoln Towncar, approached the maroon SUV and shot the three occupants. The suspect then fled south on Old FM 440.
