Dallas Father Wondering If Flu Killed Daughter

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Did the flu kill a little girl in Dallas?

In Dallas County this season's flu outbreak has been one of the worst in years.

And now a Garland father is asking if it was the flu that killed his daughter.

At just six years old, Tahlia Johnson was full of life until she started feeling badly.

She had flu-like symptoms.

Her father, Earl Johnson, took her to Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, where he says they waited for four hours.

Doctors then told them she didn't need a flu test.

Johnson says doctors told her to take Tylenol and Zyrtec and sent her home.

But less than 12 hours after leaving the hospital, she died.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner will determine the little girl's exact cause of death.
