(KCEN) -- Snakes on a plane is a movie that came out a few years ago, but now some passengers on a flight from Australia experienced the real deal.

A plane going from Australia to Papua on Thursday had a nine foot python on the wing about an hour into the flight.

The airline said the reptile did not impact the safe operation of the aircraft and the flight arrived safely.

But the snake did not have the same fate.

It was found dead on arrival.
