(KCEN) -- Tonight Washington is getting ready for President Obama's second inauguration.
And as the president himself prepares for a second term republicans and democrats are preparing for all too familiar fights on Capitol Hill.
Former Senator Chuck Hagel a republican who's the president's pick to be the next defense secretary is facing fire from GOP lawmakers for his positions on everything from Iran and Israel to gays in the military.
Republicans are also promising a confirmation gauntlet for Jack Lew the president's nominee for Treasury Secretary and John Brennan the choice to be new CIA director.
The president will be sworn in next Sunday at the White House and Monday for the big show at the Capitol.
