Two Suspects Arrested for Sexual Assault in North Waco - kcentv.com - KCEN HD - Waco, Temple, and Killeen

(KCEN) -- Two suspects are now in jail after being arrested for sexual assault in Waco last night.

At 9:30 p.m. officers responded to the north Waco area for a sexual assault call.

A passer-by called police after seeing and picking up the victim. Police found out the victim had been sexually assaulted in a backyard or alley near 9th Street and Colcord.

The victim may have known her attackers.

After the call from the witness, officers arrested two suspects, 18-year-old Resendo Lara-Zapata and a 15-year-old black male juvenile. 

Lara-Zapata was taken to the McLennan County Jail. The juvenile suspect was taken to the Juvenile Center.

The victim was taken to Hillcrest to be treated.

The Waco Crime Scene Unit and Victim Services also responded to the call.
