(KCEN) -- Beijing schools are keeping children indoors today because of off-the-charts pollution in the city.

The pollution levels in China's capital are so bad that the government is canceling school.

City authorities have ordered many factories to cut down on emissions and they're spraying water at building sites to try to tamper the dust down.

Conditions are a little better today but are still considered to be way above safe levels.
