(KCEN) -- Many kids in New York City might get a day off school tomorrow after their school bus drivers voted to go on strike.
The union voted to go on strike Monday night after threatening for several weeks.
The issue is over job protection after the city put about 1,100 bus contracts up for bid with private bus companies.
More than 8,000 drivers and bus aides are taking part.
The strike is expected to impact some 152,000 students.
