
The two teams traded baskets until midway through the first half. Temple
pulled away with a 7-0 run to take the 27-20 lead with 6:35 to play in
the half. The Leopards extended the lead to 11 with 40 seconds. MCC
scored four points in the final 15 seconds to cut the lead to seven at
halftime.
Temple led 49-41 with 17:04 remaining in the game. The
Highlanders used a 9-0 run in the next three minutes to take the 50-49
lead, the first MCC lead since the 10:52 mark of the first half. MCC
began to pull away, leading by as many as 16 down the stretch.
Shawn Prudhomme led the Highlanders with 25 points. D.J. Weathers and Devonse Reed scored 18 and 11, respectively.
MCC returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Ranger. The women's game will tip off at 2 p.m. followed by the men at 4 p.m.
