(KCEN) -- A standoff that lasted for hours ended with one man in jail this morning.
It started at eleven last night.
Police were chasing a stolen vehicle that ended up in Waco city limits.
The driver, 35-year-old Christopher Carlos Deleon, left the stolen truck near Richter and Daughtry and fled on foot.
He ended up at a house at 1912 Howard, where the occupants of the home knew him and let him in.
Officers surrounded the home and removed all occupants besides Deleon, who refused to come out.
Witnesses told police the suspect had a handgun on him. That's when police called for the SWAT and Negotiation teams.
Deleon refused to talk to negotiators into the early morning hours, so the SWAT team was forced to use chemical munitions to remove him.
When SWAT officers entered the home, they found Deleon hiding. He resisted arrest and officers had to taze him to take him into custody.
Deleon was wanted by Waco police for evading arrest and driving while license invalid from an incident on December 21, 2012.
He was taken to the McLennan County Jail and faces additional charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest and driving while license invalid.
