(KCEN) -- The movie theater in Aurora, Colo. that was the site of a mass shooting last summer will reopen tonight and the families of the victims are not pleased.
Cinemark, the owner of the theater, announced in December its plans to reopen the theater with a community event.
But when victims' families received invitations to a, "Special evening of remembrance," they were outraged.
Those families are organizing a boycott of the event saying they are shocked by the level of insensitivity shown by the invitation.
Twelve people were killed and at least 58 others injured in the July mass shooting.
Suspect James Holmes is awaiting trial.
