UPDATE (KCEN) -- The man found dead inside a burned home in Temple on January 18 has been identified as 78-year-old Sterling Briscoe.
Firefighters responded to the home at 813 East Avenue N for a fire. Briscoe's body was found inside the bedroom.

An overnight house fire in Temple leaves one person dead this morning.
It happened just before 1 a.m. at 813 East Ave N.
Temple Fire Department arrived on scene to find a home completely destroyed.
Fire and smoke were still coming from the house.
The Justice of the Peace was called to the scene and pronounced the person found inside dead on the scene.
Investigators say the fire was accidental and started in the bedroom, where a space heater was located too close to bedding.
