(KCEN) -- A flight had to be escorted by fighter jets last night after a reported hijack threat.
Alaska Air flight 819 took off from Hawaii Thursday afternoon but then the FBI received a tip of a passenger on board the plane planning to hijack it.
NORAD scrambled jets from a Portland air base, and they flew alongside the aircraft until it landed in Seattle around 7 p.m. Pacific time.
FBI agents and Port of Seattle police escorted the man off the plane and questioned him.
Some passengers said they didn't even know what was happening until the plane landed and authorities were on board.
Passenger Victoria Southland said, "The only thing I saw was when the police came on the airplane and asked the lady next to him to get up and they took him outside."
Another passenger, Woody Gardiner said, "No, nothing, as we got off I noticed TSA and a policeman was at the gate but nothing was unusual, nothing out of the ordinary."
It's still not clear if the tip made to the FBI is legit or if it was all a hoax.
