(KCEN) -- A seven-year-old girl is safe and sound after a short but terrifying ride with a couple of men who carjacked her mother in a Houston Walmart parking lot.

Police say the child's mother was getting into her truck after shopping at the Walmart.

That's when two men approached her, forced her away from the truck and took off.

But not before grabbing the attention of other shoppers.

With their help, the carjackers were forced to push the girl from the truck before driving off.

The mother and daughter suffered scrapes and bruises but no serious injuries.

Deputies are searching for the suspects.
