Dallas Cowboys linebacker, Anthony Spencer, was named to the Pro Bowl today in place of Green Bay's Clay Matthews, who is unable to participate due to injury. This marks Spencer's
first career Pro Bowl appearance.
Spencer
joins Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware, who were both named to the Pro
Bowl earlier this year. The game will once again be held at Aloha
Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii and be played one week before the Super Bowl
on Sunday,
January 27.
Jason
Witten was selected as a reserve and will be playing in his eighth
career Pro Bowl. Witten's eight selections to the annual all-star game
tie Emmitt Smith for the fifth-most appearances in franchise history.
DeMarcus
Ware (seventh) was selected and named a starter for the seventh
straight year, but is unable to attend this year due to injury. Ware's
seven overall selections to the Pro Bowl are the seventh-most by any
player in
team history and the most by a Cowboys linebacker.
