(KCEN) -- Over a hundred teachers in Bell County are now licensed to carry a concealed hand gun.
Firearms Instructor Johnny Price offered a free class at the Little River Academy to teachers in the area.
Many of the educators at today's event say they would carry on campus if they could.
Price says intruders are less likely to invade a school if they know teachers are armed and trained to shoot.
Firearms instructor Johnny Price says, "Educated but also trained in firearms usage, stops the threats."
"Even though they aren't my kids, I still feel they are my kids to protect," says 4th grade Language Arts teacher Ashley Grinnan.
Two school districts in Texas have already passed legislature that allows licensed and trained teachers to carry on campus.
