(KCEN) -- Five of the six suspects accused in the rape and death of an Indian medical student appeared in a special fast track court this morning.
The sixth suspect didn't appear in the specially-created court because he is said to be a minor.
The fast track court was created after the brutal rape sparked outrage across India.
Indian authorities filed murder charges against the men after the 23-year-old victim died later in a hospital from massive internal injuries.
Prosecutors say they plan to push for the death penalty in the case.
