(KCEN) -- The video game company made famous by "Pong" has filed for bankruptcy but will play on.
Atari's U.S. arm made the move, hoping to break away from its unprofitable French parent company.
Over the next three months Atari will seek buyers for some of its assets, including its logo and catalog of more than 200 games.
Atari was founded in 1972 and has released classic titles like Pong, Centipede and Asteroid.
