(KCEN) -- A group of seniors in Georgia is taking things into their own hands, but not without raising some eyebrows.
That's because the group is getting together to learn how to use guns.
Eighty-one-year-old Margo Lang says she never thought she'd be learning how to use a gun at her age.
Lange and a group of her senior friends are all taking the Chatham County Sheriff's Office Civilian Gun Safety Course together.
Another participant, Ruth Mullins, said, "Never thought I could ever hurt anyone, but I believe if I thought someone was going to come in and hurt my child or someone in my family, I really believe I could shoot the gun."
Some say learning how to use a gun properly is arming the elderly with fearlessness and confidence.
