(KCEN) -- More and more people are opting for cremation.
Two-and-a half million people die in America each year and almost half, 42 percent were cremated.
That's according to the Funeral Directors Association. The numbers are double the rate of just 15 years ago.
There are many reasons for the increase, including a softening of the Catholic church's view of the practice.
But the main reason is cost. Cremation is cheaper than a burial.
