United Airlines Cutting Jobs

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- United Airlines is cutting about 600 jobs because of reductions in flying.

United lost 723 million dollars last year.

The airline is reducing its number of flights this year, which prompted the layoffs. Administrative and management positions are being cut.

Many layoffs are expected in Chicago, where United is based.

The job cuts will be spread around all the company's locations.

The airline employs about 84,000 worldwide.
