(KCEN) -- A warrant has been issued for a Cameron man after assaulting a woman.
According to police 31-year-old Jesse Garza was involved in an altercation at a local nightclub back on January 11th.
During that altercation Garza allegedly struck the female bar manager in the chest causing serious injury to her aortic valve.
When police attempted to serve the suspect with the warrant he fled from officers.
The victim remains at an Austin hospital where she will have to undergo major heart surgery in order to replace the valve.
Garza is being charged with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury which carries a 2nd degree felony charge.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Cameron PD or the Milam County Crime stoppers.
