ASC Fall All-Academic Teams Released - kcentv.com - KCEN HD - Waco, Temple, and Killeen

RICHARDSON, Texas –– Numerous student-athletes from 14 institutions have been recognized by the American Southwest Conference on its 2012 Fall All-Academic honor roll. The teams were announced by the ASC office on Monday (Jan. 28) and include the sports of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.

The UMHB football, volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer teams combined to place 37 student-athletes on the fall All-Academic squads. Here are the UMHB qualifiers by sport:

FOOTBALL: Josh Holt (Jr., Lorena), Elijah Hudson (Jr., Albany), Jacob Hunter (Jr., Gatesville), Andy McAteer (Jr., Katy), Michael Mooneyham (So., Fairfield), Rudy Nerio (Sr., San Antonio), Jose Ostos (So., El Paso), Jon Ross (Sr., Bastrop), Kamray Runnels (So., Edna), Jake Sims (Jr., Corpus Christi), Derek Williamson (Jr., Milford).

MEN'S SOCCER: Jeremy Bowler (So., Katy), Brandon Dutton (Jr. Temple), Kabutey Ebeheakey (Jr., Pflugerville), Julio Espinosa (So., Pflugerville), Nathaniel Fagnant (So., The Woodlands), Derek Geels (Sr., Wylie), Isaiah Minick (So., Chaing Mai, Thailand), Brandon Stegmeyer (Jr., Temple), Michael Teague (Jr., Cypress), Kyle White (So., Lake Jackson), Tyler Wicks (Jr., Wills Point), John Williams (So., Lake Jackson).
