(KCEN) -- An Oregon girl with leukemia is undergoing an unusual new treatment that could save her life.
Eleven-year-old Avery Walker is just like any other normal fourth grader. She likes hanging out with her friends, animals and teaching her dog new tricks.
But she's been fighting a tough battle since 2007, when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
So now she's currently undergoing an experimental treatment in Philadelphia where doctors will use a disabled HIV virus to attack her leukemia cells.
Four other children have tried it and they're now in remission.
Since Walker's fight started, not only have celebrities been behind her, but her whole community has been fighting by her side.
