(KCEN) -- If your child has the cold or flu this season, be careful what over the counter medicines you buy.
Many are being pulled off the shelves.
The Consumer Product Safety Commissions says Triaminic syrups and Theraflu warning relief syrup for cough, colds and fevers were voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer.
The CPSC says the child-resistant caps failed to function properly because it could still be removed by a child even with a tamper-resistant seal in place.
The last batch of products in question were distributed more than a year ago.
