(KCEN) -- A 15-year-old girl in Iceland has won the right to use her birth name after a long battle with the court.
The girl was named Blaer by her mother. It means "light breeze."
But Iceland's official Committee on Names objected, saying it was not a proper feminine name.
The 15-year-old had been identified only as "girl" on official documents.
But the court ruled in the girl's favor yesterday.
Iceland has very strict laws on names which must fit Icelandic grammar and pronunciation rules.
