Both teams started off slow. MCC built a six-point lead with 14:27 to go
in the first half. Southwestern Christian fought back, tying the game
at 19 with 5:30 on the clock. The Highlassies ended the half on a 8-2
run to take the 27-21 lead at the break.
MCC came out on fire in
the second half. The Highlassies extended the lead to 10 with 17:23 and
continued to pull away down the stretch as they cruised to the victory.
Cha'Zaye Wright led the Highlassies with 20 points and Shanice Davis added 14.
MCC returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Weatherford. The women's game will tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
