(KCEN) -- NASA is keeping its eye on an asteroid that's headed in the direction of earth.
The small asteroid is named 2012 DA14.
It's about 150 feet across and will pass within 17,000 miles of the earth on February 15.
That's so close, it's inside the ring of weather and communications satellites orbiting the planet.
That may sound too close for comfort, but the path is still well above the vast majority of satellites and the International Space Station.
And NASA says there's no chance of a collision with the flying rock.
