Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball player
Kitrick Bell has been named American Southwest Conference West Division
Player of the Week for the week ending February 3rd.
Bell, a junior forward from Fort Bend Marshall High School, claims ASC
Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Bell
averaged 19.0 points and 16.5 rebounds per game in leading the Cru to a
2-0 record last week. He opened the week by pouring in 24 points and
tying the ASC single-game record with 24 rebounds in a 94-81 win at
Concordia Texas. He then scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in
helping lead the UMHB men to a 70-68 victory at Hardin-Simmons to close
out a 6-0 road trip. Bell shot 60 percent from the field and added two
assists and two steals. One of those steals came on HSU's final
possession to preserve that two-point win.
The UMHB men are
currently 18-3 overall and 14-1 in ASC play. The Cru has a three-game
lead in the ASC West Division and needs one more win to clinch the ASC
West Division title. The UMHB men will return to action with a 7:30 PM
tip-off against Schreiner University Thursday at the Mayborn Campus Center.
