
Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball player
Taylor Tucker has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending February 3rd.
Tucker, a sophomore forward from Montalba, Texas (A&M Consolidated
H.S.), averaged 27 points and 16 rebounds over two conference road
games, including an 88-84 double overtime win against Concordia Texas.
Against the Tornados, Tucker put up 30 points, brought
down 17 rebounds and blocked two shots. She then scored 24 points,
grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked another two shots against Hardin-Simmons
to close out a six-game road trip for the Cru. Tucker put in 22 of 26
free throws on the trip and currently leads the
conference with 10.7 rebounds per game, the only player in double
digits.
The UMHB women are currently 5-15 overall and 4-11 in ASC play. The Cru
will return to action with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off against Schreiner
University Thursday at the Mayborn Campus Center.
