Request to Delay George Zimmerman Trial Denied

(KCEN) -- A request to delay the trial against accused killer George Zimmerman has been denied.

The former Neighborhood Watch volunteer is charged with second degree murder for shooting unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla. last February.

Zimmerman's trial will begin as scheduled on June 10.

Martin would have turned 18-years-old today.

Zimmerman says he shot Martin in self-defense after the teen attacked him.
