Posted: Updated:

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball team is ranked second in the South Region in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the season released today. Hampden-Sydney is ranked #1 in this week's ranking. Christopher Newport is ranked third and UMHB's American Southwest Conference rival Concordia Texas is ranked fourth in the region.

The NCAA Regional Rankings are used to determine seedings and selections for the NCAA Division III National Championships. This is the first publicly released regional ranking of the 2012-13 season and there should be two more publicly released rankings before the end of the season.

The Cru is currently 18-3 overall and 14-1 in ASC play. The Cru will host Schreiner University for a 7:30 PM tip-off tomorrow night at the Mayborn Campus Center. UMHB will then close out the week with a 3:00 PM home game against Texas Lutheran University Saturday.
