Boone Mokry picked up the 16-7 win on the mound in game one. Matt
Hilston led the Highlanders at the plate, going 2-3 with a double, a
triple and four RBIs. Cole Calder was 3-4 with two RBIs and Kyle
Thornell hit a double with two RBIs.
The Highlanders defeated
the Roadrunners 6-4 in the nightcap with Jamie Bittle getting the win.
Justin Perales and Thornell were both 2-3 with a triple. Thornell also
recorded an RBI. Zach Valenzuela recorded a double and an RBI while Lee
Raley picked up two RBIs.
MCC will travel to Midland for a
three-game series next weekend. The Highlanders and Chapparals will play
a nine-inning game at 7 p.m. on Friday, followed by a doubleheader at noon on Saturday.
