AIMkts features articles, deal platforms, and other resources related to investing in private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, tangible assets, and pre-IPO shares. The need for the website, according to COO Michele Schechter, will become more clear as the JOBS Act of 2012 goes into effect. "Much of the attention of the JOBS Act has been on the crowd funding provisions that will permit anyone making more than $100,000 a year to invest up to $10,000 through internet portals and into non-traditional investments," according to Schechter. However, Schechter went on to say, "The far more significant aspect of the JOBS Act will prove to be the lifting of the ban against general solicitation, which will cause millions of Accredited Investors to come into the AI market for the first time."
