(KCEN) -- The birth rate among American teens is on the decline.
A new report reveals that in 2011, there were 31 births per 1,000 teen girls, which is the lowest rate on record.
General fertility rates and overall number of births also declined by one percent between 2010 and 2011.
And for the fifth year in a row, the pre-term birth rate dropped to 11.72 percent.
