
Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball player
Jovana Miles has been named American Southwest Conference Co-West
Division Player of the Week for the week ending February 10th.
Miles, a junior post from Luling High School, posted back-to-back
double-doubles to help lead the UMHB women to a 2-0 record during the
week.
Miles opened the week with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a
victory over Schreiner University before following up with a 17-point,
14-board performance in a win over Texas Lutheran to close out the week.
She shot 48 percent from the field and added five steals as the Cru
women clinched a berth in the ASC Championship Tournament. Miles shares
this week's honor with Alexis Popelar of Hardin-Simmons University.
The
UMHB women are 7-15 overall and 6-11 in ASC play. The Cru women have
won five of their last seven games to earn a trip to the conference
tournament. UMHB will close out the regular season with home games
against Howard Payne University and Sul Ross State University this week.
