Inmate Being Transported to Las Vegas Loose in Texas After Stabbing Officer

(KCEN) -- An escaped prisoner is still on the run after stabbing an officer in Dallas last night.

The Miami police officer was one of two transporting the prisoner from Miami to Las Vegas.

The group had a connecting flight out of Dallas-Fort Worth.

They decided to rent an SUV after the prisoner began acting strangely on the plane.

After stopping at a Walmart store in Grapevine, one of the officers got out of the car.

That's when the prisoner somehow stabbed the other officer in the chest and in the back.

The prisoner then got away and has not been found as of right now.

The officer is expected to be OK.
