(KCEN) -- In news around the world, China's Emergency Response Center said that North Korea's nuclear test has not affected China's environment, but authorities are on high alert for a possible emergency.
The Center's Deputy Director said that no radiation had been found in China's northeast regions that border North Korea.
China's environment ministry added that the country increased radiation monitoring in that area after the nuclear test.
None of the more 150 monitoring stations reported irregularities.
North Korea conducted its third nuclear test Tuesday in defiance of UN resolutions.
